Oh sweet baby Logan. I started photographing this adorable family when their now oldest son turned one! You may remember him as that iconic baby with the adorable husky…yeah, that one! Well, now that little baby is a big older brother! It was so special to be able to capture them as they welcome their new little addition into their home.

I love to capture newborn sessions in a “lifestyle” or “journalistic” approach…to me, it’s not about a baby wrapped up in a basket or with a huge bow on (because honestly how often is your baby laying in a basket?) To me, newborn sessions are about capturing the moments that really happen right when you bring your new one home. There are kisses, cries, snuggles (lots of snuggles), looks of awe and wonder, & these are all real, beautiful moments that deserve and crave to be captured. I always find myself getting teary eyed as I edit newborn sessions, thinking about how amazing it is that a family has trusted me in capturing a time that is so short and sweet. They grow so fast, and I know the pictures I take serve as a moment frozen in time that will be passed on and cherished forever, and I never take my responsibility in that lightly <3
