As my 7th wedding season approaches, I’ve decided to switch things up a bit. I still want to share some of the amazing weddings and sessions I shoot on my blog, but I realized that the vulnerability that comes with writing my heart out in the same space as sharing my art has been pretty emotionally exhausting in the past. It may sound crazy to anyone who isn’t an artist, but each time I share my work it’s like sharing a super personal part of myself to strangers. So, I’m still going to share all the memories I love capturing, but I’m going to keep the thoughts on those photos to myself for a little bit. Plus, I think the photos do a pretty good job of storytelling without my narration 😉
Before I officially stop the verbal storytelling, I need to write a quick little something about Rebecca & Greg’s wedding. I first met Rebecca when she was the maid of honor in her sister’s wedding which I photographed back in 2017. When she asked if I would capture her wedding in 2019, I was so excited I actually cried. Not just because I love her and Greg (the way they laugh with/at each other is something we all could learn from), but also because Rebecca’s family has come to mean something pretty special to me over the years. I’ve captured family sessions, weddings, engagement sessions, and have felt nothing but love throughout every session captured. They have made me feel like a family member rather than just someone they hire, and it has helped carry me through some dark times even without them knowing it. I am so, so thankful to have people like them in my life.
Without further ado, here is Rebecca & Greg’s epic October wedding:
